PRIVATE SECTOR PARTICIPATION
Private Sector Participation (PSP) is a modern tool, initially developed and promoted by the World Bank in order to attract investments in underdeveloped economies. The World Bank standard cooperation models have been implemented world wide and have ever since been subject to ongoing discussions. Because of its initial successes and its roots in the French and English utility sector, PSP has become an utmost attractive instrument to infrastructure from scratch, to refurbish or to upgrade existing facilities. PSP today can be found in the Western, Eastern, Northern and Southern hemisphere. It applies to the traditional infrastructure sectors (electricity, gas, water, etc) just as well as to public sectors, such as schools, hospitals, prisons, food and agriculture and many more.
CIBS has the capability to design PSP structures, laws and regulations, to advise on the type of a particular sector in a particular country in a particular environment. CIBS works on "both sides of the fence" and advises the public sector and the private sector, and is therefore in a position to identify unique win-win solutions.
